On March 20, 2023, at the school's covered court, there was a launch and orientation for the Road to Zero Project. Led by Mrs. Arleen B. Bactin, school reading coordinator, the Road to Zero (Zone of Empowered Readers as Outcomes) was created to ensure that all students at Sabang ES can read. The program was attended by Cluster 1 PSDS Mr. Angelo D. Uy, Cluster 1 Parent Supervisor Mr. Vic B. Villador, the school's OIC-Principal Mr. Mark Jayson G. Espinosa, Honorable Barangay. Chairman Mr. Ronald C. Reyes, SPTA President Mrs. Irene Dave, and SGC president Mrs. Minerva Gerona. They showed their full support for the project.

Parents and participants of the project also attended the program. They had the opportunity to meet and talk with the teachers who will serve as reading enforcers. Everyone has a positive view of this endeavor and is confident that, with everyone's help, the Road to Zero Project will be a success.
